Dario Vitale may be relatively unknown to the public, but not for long. The Italian designer has just been appointed Chief Creative Officer of Versace and will work alongside Donatella Versace who will become Chief Brand Ambassador.
Vitale, who was born in 1983 near Naples, started his career at Bottega Veneta after graduating from the Istituto Marangoni in 2006 and working for a year at Dsquared2. In July 2010, he moved to Miu Miu, where he stayed until the end of January, growing from the role of fashion designer to head of design for ready-to-wear and head of design for brand image.
He worked under the creative direction of Miuccia Prada for 14 years and alongside Fabio Zambernardi, who was head of design for both the Prada and Miu Miu brands until his departure in September 2023. Since it became known that Dario would be leaving Miu Miu, he has been rumoured to be one of the top candidates for Bottega Veneta and Gucci, among others.
